The Metropolitan Affairs Coalition (MAC) is a unique public/private partnership dedicated to improving Greater Detroit’s quality of life and creating economic opportunity through regional cooperation.
Its members are leaders in business, labor and government who work cooperatively to address regional issues and serve as a catalyst for change. MAC works closely with its partner organization, SEMCOG, the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments.
Through dialogue, research and advocacy, MAC pursues policies and programs that enhance our region’s economic vitality and quality of life with everyone at the table. Its members work to forge solutions to pressing regional issues that cannot be effectively addressed by any one organization or governmental unit acting alone.
MAC develops collaborative relationships, provides a forum for identifying regional public policy issues, and works with diverse stakeholders and constituencies to implement projects and initiatives. MAC seeks to stimulate collective action among a variety of public, private, and community partners to create a better future for those who live, work, and do business in Southeast Michigan.
