Flat Rock Dam
This dam powered the plant erected by Henry Ford in 1921 and served as the bridge for the Canadian National Railroad (originally DT&I Railroad).

Former Ford Plant Dam
Existing Conditions: Portage around the dam is difficult but achievable on the dam’s west side through a gate near the factory.  Call Flat Rock Metal for access: 734.782.4454.

Recommendations: Provide designated soft shore access points on both sides of the dam for a safe portage; locations to be determined.

Huroc Park
Existing Conditions: This beautiful park offers restrooms, parking, and interpretive signage.

Recommendations: Provide a designated soft shore launch downstream of the dams. Potential livery location.

Downtown Flat Rock
Restaurants and shops are located in downtown Flat Rock.  There is great potential for a canoe livery department near the park.

Telegraph Road Bridge
The riverbed below the Telegraph Road Bridge is solid rock, which explains the City of Flat Rock’s namesake.  Telegraph Road was first paved in the 1920’s.

Flat Rock Boat Launch
Existing Conditions: The concrete launch is not ideal for non-motorized watercraft.

Recommendations: Construct a soft shore launch and identify with signage.
